Erosion control hydroseeding slope Wisconsin

Erosion Control Hydroseeding

Door County's hilly terrain, lakefront slopes, and roadside ditches create constant erosion challenges. Our hydroseeding slurry includes a tackifier that bonds the material to the slope, holding seed and soil in place even on steep grades and through heavy spring rains.

Ideal for shoreline property owners, highway contractors, and anyone who's watched their topsoil wash away spring after spring.

How Hydroseeding Works

Simple, fast, and effective β€” here's what to expect from call to green lawn.

Free Estimate

Call us, describe your project, and we'll come out to measure and give you a no-obligation written estimate.

Site Prep

We recommend grading and loosening the top 2–3 inches of soil before we arrive for best germination results.

Mix & Apply

We load the hydroseeder with seed, mulch, fertilizer, and tackifier blended to your specific soil and exposure conditions.

Spray & Go

We spray a uniform green slurry across the entire area in one pass β€” the tackifier locks everything in place immediately.

Germination

Keep the area moist for 2–3 weeks. You'll see sprouts in 7–10 days and a full stand of grass within 4–6 weeks.

Frequently Asked Questions

How soon will I see results?
Most seeds begin germinating in 7–10 days under normal Wisconsin spring or summer conditions. A full, established stand typically appears in 4–6 weeks, depending on weather, watering, and seed mix.
How does hydroseeding compare to sod?
Hydroseeding typically costs 50–70% less than sod and produces a lawn that's better rooted because it grows in place rather than being transplanted. Sod is faster out of the gate, but hydroseeding catches up within a season.
What do I need to do before you arrive?
For best results, have the area rough-graded and topsoil loosened 2–3 inches deep. Remove large rocks and debris. We can advise on soil prep when we come out for your estimate.
What about watering after hydroseeding?
You'll need to keep the seeded area consistently moist for the first 2–3 weeks β€” light watering 2–3 times daily is ideal. After germination, taper to deeper, less frequent watering to encourage deep roots.
Do you work with general contractors?
Yes β€” contractor accounts are a big part of our business. We offer volume pricing, flexible scheduling, and reliable show-up so your projects close on time. Call us to discuss getting on our contractor list.
What areas of Door County do you serve?
We serve all of Door County including Sturgeon Bay, Sister Bay, Ephraim, Fish Creek, Egg Harbor, Baileys Harbor, Jacksonport, Brussels, and the surrounding areas. We also serve Kewaunee County. See our full service area list.
